An urban intervention proposal for the neglected square next to OC Tiptop shopping centre in Košice — named after Monopoly, but where trees take all the best plots. The idea was simple: take an underused square — mostly grass, but grass that offers little shade, no birdsong, no real atmosphere, and limited cooling effect in a warming city — and give it back to people as a living, breathing place. More trees, new functions, new qualities. The proposal included a pétanque court, a tribune for sitting and gathering, a children’s playground, a cycle path, a fountain, a Christmas tree spot, and full accessibility. All wrapped in generous green — because a square without shade is not really a square.
